And again, my wedding is off and more…
hahaha. i just have to say i’m not meant to be a church bride… hahaha. and i think i’ve invested quite a bit of downpayments to actually complete somebody else’s wedding.
well, it has been awhile since my initial post… so here goes a rundown of the highlights of the period..
Yep – New York business trip. Work. We were leaving Saturday morning… Friday afternoon, I came back to the hotel from work – and I opened the door – the TV was on, there was food/ room service… I doubled checked my room number… called the hotel security. My husband came to surprise me! But oohhhhh I was already speaking to the Security Personnel and all I could think of was “what happened to all the shoes that I just bought????” (note – all my shoes are from overseas as Bermuda stores do not carry sizes smaller than 6) CRAZY! So i rebooked my flight for Sunday afternoon. ($$). I was going to buy a laptop from that trip. My husband told me that our PC kind of crashed before he came… so there went my laptop budget. It was a good surprise. (Steve’s mom was in Bermuda with the twins).
Oh and then Steve had to go to Cayman for work. This was after his mom left. I fended for myself and the twins. 3 weeks. Exhausted. April. Oh, that was during our 1st year Anniversary. And then 2 days before his return, he called saying that they want him to stay an extra week. Hell, no. He was home as originally planned.
The weekend after was Mother’s day. I bought myself an LV bag. oh and wallet. I sure deserve that for all my hardwork that month.
June, it was getting warm. We spent a lot of time with the twins – at the park, etc.
July – HOTTTT. I started my Friday night outs again. We went on a Catamaran farewell cruise for one of our friends here who is moving to Dublin. That was fun. We also had 3 lovely guests from Toronto.
Towards the end of July, I was going to Toronto for the ISACA conference. Took the family with me and made it a vacation. We just got back last Friday actually. Toronto was tiring but fun. We got to spend a lot of time with the boys. Oh, and I got a new cut and color… I should actually post photos of my various hairstyles in the 2 year period… It has been varied.
On our last day, I checked my email and found that my dad in the Philippines is in the hospital for some tests. We are hoping for the best. Btw, he is still at the hospital. and we are still waiting for the results.
Cedie has been having on and off fever since Monday…. no colds though.
Tuesday night, Cedie’s first successful poo in the potty.
Wednesday, day care texted me – they both successfully poo’ed in the potty. I’m so proud.
Hopefully, Cedie is better. Their current day care is closed tomorrow. And i was going to take them to their new one for a test run. Forgot to mention I spent a lot of time in May and June looking at various pre-schools. Anyway, we found one and enrolled them for September.
I might even take the kids to the development assessment tomorrow afternoon. Might. If we are all in a good mood.
My other majors – Sunglasses – Versace and Roberto Cavalli (i giggle everytime i think of Roberto… that’s how much i love my sunglass.) And I’m eyeing a Prada one too… I have to restrain myself.
Other things going on:
- Planning the twins 2nd Birthday
- New York Trip with the girls in September (rescheduled the twins’ doctors appointment after the trip)
- Work. and More Work. LOL.
- Annabelle and Blaise’s Baby Shower on Saturday at their house in Warwick
- Lorie’s 29th Birthday on Friday, Lunch on Sunday at their house in Warwick
- Sonny’s 30th Birthday Bonfire on Sunday at Chaplin Bay
- Post photos on this site too.
3rd time’s the Charm
You got that right! I’m a Bride to Be again. A wife and a bride to be. Hahaha. Anyway, we are currently planning for a January 2009 Church wedding in Manila. Haven’t booked anything as yet. We ran into a snag, dealing with the Clearance from the Archbishop’s Chancery office in Manila. Apparently, because my Groom is not a Filipino, we need to submit additional paperwork. Plus, we can’t reserve any Church slots without the clearance. So, that is that. We are still working on the documents.
We were initially hoping to make it for December 2008, but that being the peak period of weddings in Manila, I’ve resigned myself to January. The minus side – people who are coming to Manila for the Holidays would most probably have left by then. Plus side – cheaper air flights. Less competition on booking wedding suppliers.
I don’t really feel like stressing out and dealing with all the nitty gritty details. No DIYs for me.
Status:
I couriered some of the documentation requirements to my mom and tasked her to meet with a prospective coordinator. Hopefully, the documentation is enough to reserve a slot at the church and that we are working on submitting the rest of the documents. And that we get to book the coordinator who can work on the wedding full-time.
Gown-wise, I have a couple of sketches from a couturier in Manila. We still have the details to iron out. I still have a lot of questions.
I’ve spoken with my MIL, who is staying with us for the month, about doing the Korean Wedding Ceremony during our reception program. She has agreed to sort that out for us.
Giants win – Boston is upset, Bermuda is happy
I’m in NYC for the week. Its all good. The Giants win. Its Fashion Week. Its Chinese New Year. And it snowed a bit – my first snow.
Now, if I can just get on with my shopping list… It would be perfect.
Just came back from the Apple Store… and I was able to tinker a bit with the thinnest laptop in the world – for now – the MacBook Air. So Sexy it is. Looks good but well.. way to pricey for what you can actually do with it. I guess its XPS for me. The HP Pav didn’t come with the Intel Core Duo… But I better check my bank account first.
5 things i want my kids to know before they grow up
I’ve been away for so long, I forgot how the blog works anymore… I’ve been trying to recall how to post pictures, and improve the appearance of my blog, etc…
And then NiCe tagged me oh so nicely… I’m like “what tag?” hahaha. I went to Nice and Mec’s site and i guess here goes…
Hmm… 5??? 5??? Would this require more time than the usual post???? Ugh. Let me at it!
1. Appreciate each day, each blessing that they have
2. There is something bigger than all of us.
3. Respect.
4. We will always be here for them no matter what. Unconditional love.
5. Laughter.

Back to the blogging world..
I’m back!
Haven’t done this in a while. Things have been complicated and somehow it seemed too personal for the “viewing public” to see.
It has been more than a year since I’ve been active on the web – have been for the most a part a lurker. I’m hoping to jot down what has been happening to my life in my year or so of absence in my next posts…
